Q1. Are you using full CMYK 4-color printing? What is Pleasing color?
TOP
We are using full CMYK 4-color for printing. If your graphics are in RGB (for monitor) color space, we will convert your RGB
to CMYK color space. The converted CMYK colors can be examined in PDF proof(s) we generated for you at end of 'Online Design' or
'Online Upload' processes. Not all RGB have corresponding CMYK settings.
Due to the nature of differences between RGB and CMYK, color shifting is unavoidable. We guarantee industry standard 'Pleasing' colors
printing. 'Pleasing' Colors are similar, but not 100% identical to original RBG colors. We control the margin of discrepency
under 15% between actual printed CMYK colors and colors appear in proof pdf.
Q2. What is online PDF proof for? Why I need to approve it?
TOP
Our printing is based on the online PDF proof(s) we generated for you. You must carefully verify and approve PDF proof(s) before
placing order. We guarantee the printouts you receive will match PDF proof(s). We will reject your refund or reprint request if
the problem is caused by your mistakes in verifying proof PDF.
At end of your 'Online Upload' or 'Online Design', we convert your final works to PDF proof(s). Graphic conversion is a
complicate process. We have to convert RGB color to CMYK color space for press printing. In addition, fonts if not supported by us,
referenced images if not embedded by you or size if incorrect, will generate result different from your work. Therefore, it is
mandatory that you carefully examine PDF proof(s). You can
click here to view 'How do I verify proof PDF?' topic.
Please Note: the Bleeding/Trim/Safe zones, cutting/folding lines and 'PROOF' stamp marked on proof PDF are for demonstration
purposes and will not be printed.
Q3. Can you explain Bleed/Trim/Safe Zones in PDF, Online Design and Templates?
TOP
Zones and lines are drawn on proof PDF, Online Design work area and downloadable design templates.
For PDF and online design, these zones and lines are drawn by our system and will not be printed. For design templates,
you MUST DELETE these zones, lines and all demonstration purposed content before saving your work. Otherwise,
they will be part of your design and printed.
.Bleed Zone – The outer zone represents the area with clearance reserved for cutting out.
.Trim Lines – The lines between bleeding and Safe Zone margins represent the cutting out lines.
.Safe Zone – The inner zone where content is guaranteed to appear in printout.
The trimming size is the product size. Bleeding Zone is trim zone,
with size=WxH, extending 1mm cutting clearance to four directions, i.e. Bleed Size = (W+2mm) X (H+2mm). Safe zone is 2mm~3mm, depending on products,
inside trimming lines. Please be aware that outside Safe Zone, your content may still be cut off due to possible precision error.
When designing your work, you shall not draw these zones and lines for they will become part of your design and printed. If you download
design templates from our site, the templates will come with pre-drawn zones/lines and possible cutting/folding lines. Again, these
zones and lines are for demonstration purpose and MUST BE DELETED. WITPrint.com will reject your claims if you fail to
delete these unwanted content.
Q4. What cutting and folding options do you offer?
TOP
For brochure product, we offer three types of folding and two types of cutting (see demonstration below).
For Folding, please carefully review the folding method you choose to ensure the result will meet your needs.

Q5. Can you explain Cutting/Folding lines in proof PDF and Online Design work area?
TOP
For brochure product, if you choose one of the folding or cutting options, we will draw lines to indicate actual folding/cutting areas.
Content outside Safe Zones may be cut off or folded. We guarantee that content inside Safe Zones will appear in printouts after
folding/cutting.
Important: These Cutting/Folding lines generated by our system on PDF proof and Online Design are for demonstration
purposes and will not be printed. In your own design, you shall not draw cutting/folding lines in your work for they will be
considered part of your work and printed.
Q6. For Business Card's 'Round Corners' option, how do you make them?
TOP
For Business Card product, we offer 'Round Corners' option. Round corners are cut at all four corners.
Each corner is a quarter circle with diameter equals 5mm. In your own design, you shall not draw
round corner curves on your work.
Q7. Where can I find your product design templates?
TOP
We encourage you to use our template as the base to design your work. Our design templates provide accurate sizes and are marked
with Bleeding/Trim/Safe zones and folding/cutting lines if chosen. Please Note: the Bleeding/Trim/Safe zones and folding/cutting lines
in our templates are for demonstration purposes. You must take out these zones and lines before saving your work. Otherwise, these
zones and lines will be parts of your design and appear on printouts.
You can click
Design Templates link to
download desired templates. Currently, we provide templates for Illustrator, CorelDRAW, PhotoShop and JPG file types.
Q8. Where can I find your artwork design guidelines?
TOP
You need to consider certain factors when designing your work for printing.
For example
• Press printing uses CMYK color space and needs to convert your RGB colors.
• Printing involves trimming and possibly cutting or folding based on your choice.
• If you draw border frames, the frames may not look symmetric after cutting or folding.
• Our press machine precision is limited to 0.02mm.
• Our system may not have the special fonts used in your work.
• We can not reference external files only reside in your computer.
We summarize all these important considerations into a single guidelines page.
You can click
Artwork Guidelines link to view details.
Q9. What is the term 'gsm' indicated in product's 'Paper Stock' field?
TOP
The term 'gsm' (grams per square meter) defines the weight of paper. Normally, the higher 'gsm' the thicker the paper feels.
